Last weekend I said goodbye to my baby boy. Sure, this process already started a year go when he turned 1. Back then, he walked…babies do not walk. However, that was nothing compared to now. Now he drives a Bobby car, climbs on the sofa and walks down the stairs without me having a heart attack from just looking at it. He talks and babbles, sometimes clearly and sometimes so coded that finding out what he is saying is like participating in a game show. He developed a thing for rap music (J.Cole’s “No Role Modelz” it is), sings and makes little jokes.
Yeah, he is not a baby anymore. He is a true toddler boy…but Gosh, 2 couldn’t have come soon enough. I love this age !
As we are moving houses in a month, I decided to outsource party preparations and hold his birthday bash at our favorite kids café and concept store De Kleine Parade here in Amsterdam. We had the lovely atelier space for our group which the team had decorated really nicely and colourful. To bring the bunch of energetic toddlers in the right mood, we offered cake which the kids could decorate, pretzels, raisins and fruit as well as those great toys such as the kids kitchen and the DJECO wooden cubic doll house (honestly, the most stylish doll house I’ve ever seen) which you can find at the café. So while playing and sipping apple juice, the kiddos seemed to have a great time. The little bird (and his parents) certainly did.
Happy 2 little bird!
